We offer many custom programs to clients of all ages based on program needs.

RKY Camp strives to provide our participants with an opportunity to challenge themselves in a safe, inclusive, outdoor environment and help them to get in touch with themselves, nature, and each other.

You can book a day, overnight or multi-day trip with all RKY programming or a joint leadership group with RKY running only a portion of the programs.

Although we do our best to fit everyone in, please be aware that our busiest months of June and September do fill up quite quickly; please book early to avoid disappointment!

We are located on Eagle Lake, just 45 minutes North of Kingston.

For our overnight programs in the Spring and Fall seasons we have 15 cabins that sleep up to 14 people each; all are available for overnight group rentals.

In the winter months (January- March) we can sleep up to 90 people in heated accommodations.

Stay Cozy

During our Outdoor Centre seasons, our program areas allow us to have up to 200 participants fully engaged and involved in a variety of programs at one time.

Our brand new dining hall, The Homestead, and our recently renovated Outdoor Centre provide ample indoor space to meet and stay warm when not enjoying the outdoor amenities.

SCHOOL

GROUPS

We have years of experience in tailoring our programs to your class curriculum, creating an amazing outing at RKY. Let us plan an educational outing that your students will cherish forever.

RKY Camp staff always appreciate the support and hard work provided by group leaders, teachers and parent volunteers. Without their dedication, we could not provide the same level of programs.

For school programs, an ideal ratio is one chaperone for every 10 participants (day group) or one chaperone for every cabin if chaperones are staying in cabins with students. This allows at least one adult for every rotation group, plus 1-2 extra chaperones floating around to help out where needed.

Please read the Outdoor Centre Guide and contact the Outdoor Centre Director (outdoorcenter@rkycamp.org) if you still have any questions.

FAMILY

CAMP

RKY Camp's Spring and Fall Family Camps are fully programmed by camp staff and provide an exciting opportunity to enjoy time at Eagle Lake with the family.

These weekends provide a great way to have the RKY Camp experience together and enjoy some adult time as well.

Families arrive on a Friday evening and stay through brunch on Sunday, with delicious and family-friendly meals provided by the RKY food services team.

Get to know the other families while RKY staff facilitate a variety of our traditional camp programs.

Enjoy waterfront activities like canoeing, kayaking and swimming (weather permitting, of course!). Have fun with land-based activities like high ropes, climbing, archery, arts & crafts, and more.

Winter at RKY

RKY Camp offers full-service winter outdoor education and facility rentals for clients. All of our programming (except for our water-based activities) is available during the winter time.

In addition, RKY also offers these exciting winter-specific activities listed below (weather and conditions permitting).

Snow Much Fun!

Staff and participants equipped with cross country skis and poles in the winter

CROSS COUNTRY SKI

Eagle Lake is a great place to learn to cross country ski, or challenge yourself if you already know how! Our trails are great to explore & learn how to go up & down hills on skis! We love to educate a bit about the history of cross country skiing & why it is such a great winter activity!

SNOWSHOEING

Explore our site on one of North America’s oldest modes of transportation! Snowshoeing is a great way to be active and have fun while learning about the way our ancestors would travel around the backcountry. Snow shoeing can be a fun program just on it’s own, or paired with a Winter Ecology or Animal Tracking session.

TOBOGGANING

Another winter classic! Slip sliding your way down a hill on one of our camp provided crazy carpets. Bring your family's favourite sled to take it up a notch!

SNOW SOCCER

The classic game of soccer is fun in the winter because falling down doesn’t result in skinned knees! We like to add another ball or two to keep everyone on their toes!

FIRE BUILDING

Many people think winter = wet = it’s hard to start fires. Our staff can teach participants how fun and rewarding it is to build outdoor fires in the winter. There is nothing like roasting marshmallows on a fire you built in the snow!

COLD CLIMBING

As long as you can still feel your fingers you can climb! Safely strapped in, our certified staff help belay you in our many Adventure features—such as the Vertical Play Pen. Learn more about Adventure.

ICE SKATING

RKY Camp located on beautiful Eagle Lake, has the good fortune of being able to provide an excellent skating rink for participants. Please bring along your own ice skates and helmet. This activity is weather dependent as some years, the ice on the lake is not thick enough to safely use as a program area.

QUINZEE SLEEP OUT

Geared for older participants (13+) learn how to make a "Quinzee" and even sleep in it! The sleep out is optional and must pass instructor judgement of the quinzee and the participant’s preparedness  before being allowed to sleep out. Note: Sleep out can only be done if your group is at RKY for at least 2 nights.

INDOOR ACTIVITIES

Create your own pizza, complete a craft challenge, read by the fire, make a hot tea or a fun bracelet. Our staff have lots of activities and group games for you to choose from.
